about the season
In the midst of the continuing global pandemic, the smaller, more personal tragedies and triumphs can be discounted or minimised. This series, set as the world began to re-emerge from lockdowns due to Covid-19, shines a light on the little things as our cities and towns slowly came back to life during the pandemic. From dissatisfaction with work (and the boss), to relationship and mental health issues, to disappointment in our political leaders, to the first tentative steps back to a “normal” life and more, through each episode we are observers of human nature rediscovering itself in the backwash of a global crisis – with some finding their voice and others finding the opposite, still in the overwhelm of it all.
In a world where masks were beginning to be removed (for better or ill) and we came together face-to-face for the first time in a long time – Walking Shadows Vol. 1 explores the myriad of domestic and personal challenges our previous isolation caused or caused us to hide from, as seen through the lens of a wide range of Shakespeare characters, using his original words.
