Walking Shadows Vol. 3 wins prestigious Michael Ajakwe Jr Achievement Award at the 2025 Hollywood Series

What a way to see out 2025! We are so thrilled to share that Walking Shadows Vol. 3 has been named the winner of the Michael Ajakwe Jr Achievement Award at the 2025 Hollywood Series in Los Angeles!

This is a wonderful way to see out the year and the festival run for this series. Huge thanks to the Hollywood Series jury and team and congratulations to the entire Walking Shadows team!

And now, a word from Walking Shadows Creator/Director, Sally McLean:

“I am so grateful to the Hollywood Series jury for this acknowledgement of the work and for honouring myself and the team with the Michael Ajakwe Jr Achievement Award at this years Awards. Michael was a force of nature, a true pioneer, a visionary and the father of the web series circuit as we know it today. All of us in this sector continue to benefit from his vision and his commitment to creativity and independent filmmaking. An Emmy winning writer and producer in his own right, Michael founded the first web fest in the world – LAWEBFEST – giving a home to the emerging storytelling style of short form series. He would go on to be involved in helping set up other web fests around the globe, actively encouraging and supporting fests in France, Brazil, South Korea, Australia, Hong Kong, Atlanta, South Florida, Canada, Italy, Mexico and Spain. His legacy to this sector is unmatched and ever-lasting. To be named the winner of the award that bears Michael’s name is such an honour and not taken lightly. Thank you Hollywood Series for this wonderful thing. Thank you to my cast & crew for making this series possible and to the entire Incognita producing team – Billy Smedley, Christopher Kirby, Phoebe Anne Taylor & Sass Pinci – none of this work would be possible without you. Congrats to all our fellow nominees and winners. As this chapter comes to a close for us, I just want to say to all my fellow creators – keep telling your stories. We need them now more than ever.”
